How it works

Invision AI offers software that learns from its interactions with changing external stimuli. It can enable edge devices, such as remote cameras and other sensors in the field, to interpret the world around them without relying on costly hardware or cloud connections. It provides real-world 3D situational awareness – including 3-D detection, geo-localized tracking across sensors, and sensor fusion. Invision AI is designed for applications where speed, cost and privacy are paramount.

Key Features

iRSU monitoring

  • The iRSU can monitor multiple lanes, offer quick operational readiness after relocation, and features easily measured performance.
  • 2 options are available for installation: Choose a fixed system, where the unit can achieve up to 99.1% precision and a 2.4% miss rate, or use a portable platform for rapid deployment, risking only a marginal drop in precision and a slightly larger miss rate.
  • The iRSU can liaise with different systems, like those associated with license plate recognition, to provide a full report on each passing vehicle. It can note the vehicle’s license plate, registration information, total number of occupants, and number of occupants per row.

Safety

  • To address security and privacy, none of the vehicle or occupant data is retained or transmitted by the unit.
  • Any and all computations are performed and temporarily contained on peripheral systems.
  • The client also has the choice to keep only suspected violator information encrypted on these peripheral systems, or else securely upload the data to their own cloud software.

Where is it used?

As one of the leading organizations specializing in providing video-based AI solutions for transit and public safety applications, Invision AI offers field tested, proven tech that has the potential to benefit the entirety of the traffic industry.

In early 2021, Invision partnered with global toll road developer and operator Transurban to test the precision on dynamically priced Express Lanes.

The iRSU (Invision Road-Side Unit) was set up at three different spots in the Greater Washington Area. The results were astounding, with the iRSU achieving a precision of 97.5% in under two hours of operation. The low-occupancy vehicle miss rate stood at a mere 11.9%.

When the unit was switched to “enhanced mode,” it proved capable of operating with 99.0% precision. The only cost was a marginally wider miss rate window of 15.9% during the same 2-hour time frame.
